The Island's Machines
Thanks to its direct summer flights between Ajaccio, Bastia and Nantes, Air Corsica takes you in less than two hours of flight, thanks to its Airbus A320, to discover the wealth of the Loire-Atlantique and the fascinating world of the "Galerie des Machines".
The " Island’s Machines " is an artistic project born of the imagination of François Delarozière and Pierre Orefice that is at the crossroads of Jules Verne's "invented worlds", Leonardo da Vinci's mechanical universe and Nantes' industrial history, on the exceptional site of the former shipyards.
Many different and equally surprising universes are then available to you:
- The Marine World Machines installed in the Musical Ride.
- The Plant and Heron Tree Machines in the Machine Gallery where mechanical plants and canopy animals meet.
- The Musical Ride is an incredible sculpture dedicated to the sea by which the visitor is invited on a three-level aquatic journey in a concrete lace. The merry-go-round is topped by a capital decorated with pediments and guarded by sixteen fishermen from all over the world's oceans.
In this incredible metallic setting, elephant rides are offered between the Nefs and the yellow crane of the island of Nantes. An extraordinary gallery allows you to meet surprising mechanical monsters...
Finally, the large Atelier of François Delarozière and Pierre Orefice regularly opens its doors to the public who discover, from a corridor, the place of creation where machines come to life. On the terrace is the café de La Branche and its magic shop.
With its direct summer flights between Ajaccio, Bastia and Nantes, Air Corsica invites you to discover an extraordinary universe with a visit to the "Galerie des Machines"...!
