The Tête d’Or Park

The Tête d’or park of Lyon is one of the biggest urban parks in France. Located in the heart of the city, this is where you can go to revitalize yourself. The park covers 105 hectares with a 17 hectares’ lake. It is particularly well known for its magnificent and international rose garden that fans from everywhere come to see it during the spring. There is also the first French botanical garden with more than 20,000 species. Finally, visitors come also to see the vast African plans where zebras, giraffes, antelopes, lions and other species live there on 3 hectares freely.
In the heart of the city, this lovely place will allow you to unwind by running, playing football or hitting a ball, doing a picnic, watching the free animals or simply reading a book nearby the lake. The green lung of Lyon, over there numerous of wide spaces are here to welcome visitors but also more cosy groves. You can sail through the swans with a pedalo, go on the merry-go around, eat an ice cream nearby the water, take the mini-train or attend to Guignol’s show with your kids on Wednesday.
Throughout the year, the Tête d’Or Park is also a perfect outdoor theatre for cultural events, music festivals, concerts, debates, all sort of activities take place in the garden. This park should be admired all year-round and so much when it is cover by snow which enhance its beauty.
