Daily rate calculations

The prices of your DRIVE+, and DRIVE+ PROMO, are calculated on the basis of 24-hour units. Beyond 24 hours and 29 minutes, one additional day of rental will be charged. Additional days not covered by the vouchers DRIVE+ and DRIVE+ PROMO will be charged directly to the customer credit card for a rate of 53 Euros/Day

Vehicle Drop-offs

In Corsica, you are allowed to return your vehicle in a station different than the one where you initially picked it up, this service is free of charge.

Vehicle drop-off in another station outside Corsica, on the French territory or in the European Union, is forbidden.

Optional warranties  

• CDW : partial removal of damage deductible amount

• TP : Partial removal of theft, attempted theft or vandalism deductible amount

• PI : Personal driver and luggage insurance

Excess amount

Any rental with optional warranty CDW and/or TP subscribed or included in the rate, will be submitted to a reduced deductible fee. In the event that the optional warranty CDW and/or TP has not been subscribed, rental will apply the maximum deductible amount. Subject to compliance with Hertz general rental conditions specific to each country..

For minor damages, Hertz staff will consider the damage at the vehicle drop-off and an agent will submit an invoice based on a « matrix ». This « matrix » is a document on which you agree the flat-rate invoicing whose amount is lower than the reduced deductible and is calculated from a index table listing all repair costs (parts and labour costs) and immobilization of the vehicle for work.

Comfort pack 

It includes a complete removal of the damage and theft deductible amount. You will subscribe to this guarantee at the Hertz office if  you first subscribe to CDW and TP subject to the rental contract. Except upper and lower parts, keys and accessories. Not available for drivers under 25 years old. Subject to availability.

Local overload

Free of charge for any package. Local overload is charged on all business rates for business or private travel. 6.02Euros VAT/day.

Contribution to registration fees

included in all packages. A contribution to the registration costs of the vehicle will be charged 3.60 Euros VAT/day, never exceeding 8 days, that is to say 28.70 Euros per 30 days period.

Local extra charge

Free of charge for any package. Local supplement may be charged near an airport or a railway station 41.76 Euros VAT/contract.

Additional driver

For any additional driver, you will be charged 12 Euros/day, never exceeding 60 Euros VAT per 30 days period as part of the packages DRIVE+, DRIVE+PROMO and VDS

Accessories 

You can rent additional accessories, subject to availability and booking.

• Child and Baby car seat 46.20 Euros VAT/each

• Booster seat 13.20 euros VAT/each

Minimum rental age

The minimum hiring age is 21 years. Every driver must have a valid driving licence they have held for at least 1 year.

• Drivers from 21 to 25 years will have to pay an additional fee.

• 40.84 Euros VAT/day, never exceeding 12 days, that is to say 490.03  Euros VAT on each contract.

Support

In the case of car crash or mechanical  difficulties on the mainland, Hertz will manage with the repatriation of the vehicle, if this option is selected with a cost of 3.01 Euros VAT/day.

Fuel

When you pick up your car, refuelling is already done. You are required to return the car with the same amount of fuel it first had. When Hertz charges for fuel, the cost will be higher of 40%.

Charges for fuel : 15.00 euros VAT beyond 2 liters missing.

Administrative fees

• Administrative fees for traffic ticket : 20.00 Euros/file

Included in the package : 250 Km/day. For any extra kilometer, please see surplus table below :

Premium support

It covers the costs incurred for repairs or towing. Any breakdown due to misuse of the customer, are not taken into account by the assistance ( ex : fuel mistake, key loss… ). The cost is 6.00 Euros/day

Any rental subscribed through DRIVE+, or DRIVE+PROMO, benefits from reduced deductible amounts. In case of damages or car accident, reduced deductible amount will apply according to the rental car class selected.

Fuel

When you pick up your car, refuelling is done. You are required to return the car with the same amount of fuel it first had. Otherwise, Hertz will fill up the tank.

You can also pay for a totally refuelled tank before the rental period (OAC : fuel purchase option)  for an average of price per litre at surrounding gas pump stations at the Hertz agency ( But there will be no refund if the fuel is not used).

• 3.25 Euros VAT – gasoline. Per litre, target price subject to change without notice
• 2.88 Euros VAT – diesel gasoline. Per litre, target price subject to change without notice

Fuel service

15 Euros VAT beyond two missing litres on each rental agreement.
