General conditions of sale Europcar

ATTENTION: In case of no-show or if the necessary documents for the rental (driver’s license, voucher, and embossed credit card in the name of the driver) are not presented, the Drive+ fee will not be refunded.
Cancellation of the Drive+ Auto must be made no later than 24 hours before the scheduled flight.

The General Rental Conditions are subject to change without notice.

General Rental Conditions for Europcar in mainland France.

Age: The driver must have held their driver’s license for at least one year (varies depending on the vehicle category).
For a driver classified as a "young driver" (under 26 years old), a "Young Driver" surcharge will be applied.
Additional driver: With the rental company's agreement, the vehicle may be driven by other persons.
Driver’s License: Must have held it for at least one year depending on the category of the rented vehicle.
Deposit: Possible only for certain categories. Details are available from our Reservation Service. The deposit is systematic.
Accepted credit cards: American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, JCB, Mastercard, Visa.
Insurance: Damage waiver (C.D.W.), theft protection, and personal accident insurance (P.A.I.): fees may vary depending on the rented vehicle category. Details are available in the rental conditions.
Returning vehicles at another agency: Possible between all Europcar stations (see specifics).
Options and equipment: The list of all available equipment and options is available below.
Usage Restrictions: Certain vehicle usage conditions may be subject to specific regulations depending on the country. Details are available from our Reservation Service.

Within the framework of a Drive+ rental with AirCorsica, the prices offered include:

  • Unlimited mileage
  • CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
  • THW (Theft Waiver)
  • PAI (Personal Accident Insurance)
  • Local airport and/or station surcharge (SCE)
  • One additional driver

The prices do not include: accessories; administrative fees; additional days; reduced excess; abandonment fees OUTSIDE mainland France, etc.

For any equipment and/or additional service, please note that the price applicable to this equipment and/or additional service will be the price applied on the day the vehicle is picked up at the chosen Europcar agency.
These additional charges will be applied under certain conditions detailed in the Recommended Rate Guide available from the Europcar General Rental Conditions. These options can be selected when the vehicle is picked up and will be paid directly at the counter.

Below is a non-exhaustive list of services with an additional charge (prices including VAT):

  • Registration fee participation (PFI): €3.70 per day. Maximum of 10 days & per 30-day period.
  • Environmental contribution (ecological tax): Between €10.80 and €36.00 per category (details in the Europcar rate schedule).
  • Young Driver option < 26 years: €4.00 per day. Maximum billing of 10 days.
  • One WAY = One-way: the vehicle is returned to a different agency from the departure one. External return fees may be charged when the vehicle is returned to a different agency than the pickup one. Price per rental on quotation. Prohibited for our electric vehicles.
    Example rate for One Way fees: departure from Nice airport and return to Marseille airport. For a Small City Car category (MBMR: Fiat 500) and Compact (CDMR: Renault Captur), the One Way price is €8.90 including VAT.
  • Delivery outside opening hours: €45.00 per rental.
  • Return outside opening hours: €25.00 per rental.
  • No-show fees: in the event of a no-show, a fee of €11.40 per reservation will apply.
  • Cancellation fees < 24 hours before vehicle pickup: €60.00 per reservation.
  • Administrative fees for damage: €87.00 per rental. The deductibles do not reduce or eliminate your obligation to pay the damage management fees that may apply in the event of any damage occurring during the rental.
  • Administrative fees for handling fines and FPS: the handling of fines following a traffic code violation will be charged at €55.00 per fine and/or FPS. The administrative fees are in addition to the amount of the fines and FPS.
  • Fuel indemnity (RSC): €20.00 per rental will be charged by the agency manager if the fuel is not refilled as expected. This refueling indemnity is in addition to the fuel price, which is charged according to the liter price displayed at the Europcar agency on the return day. The vehicle is handed over to the customer with a full tank of fuel. It must be returned the same way.
  • Electric recharge indemnity: €25.00 per rental. When an electric vehicle is returned with a charge level below 70%, Europcar will recharge and bill for this service.

Cleaning/washing fees: In case of non-compliance with the smoking ban in the vehicle and/or if the vehicle's condition requires more than standard cleaning, washing fees of €135.00 per vehicle will be charged.

Additional day: additional days not covered by the vouchers/order forms issued by AirCorsica will be charged directly to the customer at the current public rate valid at the time of the rental. The departure day is used to determine the tariff application.

Accessories/equipment:

  • Child seat: €14.00 per day. Maximum billing of 5 days per rental
  • Booster seat: €9.00 per day. Maximum billing of 5 days per rental
  • Winter tires: €39.00 per day. Maximum billing of 7 days. The list of other available equipment is accessible on the Europcar website.

Electric recharge: free recharge card provided. Thanks to our partnership with Shell Recharge from the Shell group, you receive a free recharge card upon arrival at the rental agency. The Shell Recharge card allows:

  • Access to over 80,000 public charging stations in France
  • Online tracking of sessions and charging costs
  • Easy payment with VAT invoices
  • Fast charging on fast chargers without an additional card
  • 24/7 assistance How does it work? You download the Shell Recharge app and register (it's free). This will give you access to the charging station network. The customer will be billed according to their consumption.

Deposit Before picking up the vehicle, you will leave a debit authorization on your payment card for the amount of the deposit. You can also pay the deposit by bank check in all Europcar agencies that accept it, subject to obtaining a guarantee of the check's authenticity for Europcar France from an external service provider. This operation is carried out directly at the Europcar agency counter. The deposit amount varies according to the vehicle range and category. These amounts can be reduced by subscribing to protection that limits your financial exposure to the reduced amount of the deductible. See more details in the Europcar General Rental Conditions. The amount retained as the deposit will be used to cover all damage and/or additional costs incurred during the rental period. This sum will thus be retained for the entire rental period. The deposit will be fully refunded at the end of your Rental Contract if no damage and/or additional costs have been observed upon the return of the rented vehicle. Technical assistance services for the rented vehicle In case of breakdown – if the vehicle cannot be repaired on-site, the assistance organizes and covers the towing costs to the nearest dealership or vehicle brand agent.

  • Organization and payment of the breakdown costs of a vehicle that has been involved in an accident or has broken down and cannot be repaired immediately.
  • Searching for a replacement vehicle within a 100 km radius if the vehicle cannot be repaired immediately (N.B.: the rental contract will continue to run until the last day of the initially agreed rental). To proceed with this vehicle change, a vehicle of the same category will be prioritized, but no guarantee can be given on this point. The same will apply to specific equipment or if the rented vehicle was an electric vehicle; assistance will strive to replace it with a similar vehicle but cannot guarantee it.
  • Transportation of beneficiaries to the rental agency where the replacement vehicle is located (up to 200 euros in taxi fees).
  • By subscribing to our Assistance Plus protection (RSA) and subject to compliance with the laws and our General Rental Conditions, you will be exempt from paying these flat-rate sums. To do so, you must subscribe to our Assistance Plus protection at a fixed daily cost as indicated in the Recommended Rate Guide. The customer must have held their driver’s license for at least one year. When renting, they must present the original of their valid national driver’s license, a piece of identification, and a bank card in their name. Damaged or altered licenses are not accepted. The reservation is only valid for the departure date indicated on the voucher. In case of presentation after the scheduled date, the reservation will not be honored. Modification at pick-up: If, when picking up the vehicle, the customer wishes to rent a higher category vehicle or for a longer period, depending on availability, they will simply need to pay the additional charges at the counter. Early return: We will not refund rental days if the customer returns the vehicle earlier than the date initially scheduled in the reservation.

The offer includes unlimited mileage, contractual theft (T.W.) or damage (C.D.W.) guarantees, limiting your liability to the Non-Redemptive Deductible amount, registration fee participation (P.F.I.), VAT, civil liability coverage in compliance with legal obligations, and 24/7 medical and technical assistance. Additional services remain the responsibility of the renter and are not included in the proposed prices. Payment cards bearing the mention "credit card not provided by a banking institution," "prepaid," "electron," "maestro," "ecard" printed on the front or back of your card are not accepted across the entire Europcar agency network. Offer subject to Europcar’s General Rental Conditions in force at the time of rental, client qualification rules in force at the time of rental, and Insurance and Assistance Conditions.
