The Royal Palace of Brussels
During the summer, from april to october, Air Corsica offers direct flights from Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari to Brussels South Charleroi Airport for a discovery of all the glories of the Belgian capital and in particular the Royal Palace in Brussels.
The Royal Palace in Brussels, just like the Palace of the Nation, head office of the Federal Parliament that is located at the other end of the Royal Park, symbolize in a way the Belgian constitutional monarchy. This building is the working place of the King where he settles down his administrative residence, receives the representative of political institutions, foreign guests (Heads of state, ambassadors…) and various other hosts. In addition to the King and Queen office, the Royal Palace is also home to the services of the King’s house : the Cabinet of the King, the general secretariat, the civil list, the Military House, the Protocol and the queen’s secretariat.Other members of the Royal Family have also one desk at their disposal in the Brussel’s Palace where their collaborators are also at work.
The Palace is full of rooms and prestigious lounges where take place the various activities of the Kingand the Royal Family (work session, round tables, recptions, concerts, breakfasts…). Since 1965, the Royal Palace has been available to the public every summer after the national holiday of the 21st of july until the begining of september.
Some architectural golden oldies are nestled in the heart of the Palace : the ceremonial staircase and the vestibule,the bog lobby, the Empire Room, the little and the large white lounge, the Venice staircase, the Goya lounge, the Cobourg lounge, the Louis XVI lounge, the Marshal lounge, the Throne room, the marbles room, the large Galery, the mirror room, and the thinkers lounge or «squared lounge».
Extraordinary places to discover each year when the Palace is open to the public during the summer from the july 22nd, reachable within 01h40 thanks to the Air Corsica direct flights between Corsica and Belgium.
